We would like to welcome the Environmental Protection Agency as our headline sponsor of the EPA Digital Media Awards 2020.
The Environmental Protection Agency want to encourage everyone to ‘Be the Change’ in protecting our environment ahead of this year’s Irish Digital Media Awards
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will sponsor this year’s highly anticipated Digital Media Awards which take place on Friday the 21st of February 2020 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin 4. The Digital Media Awards welcome the EPA sponsorship with the theme ‘Be the Change’ which highlights the personal responsibility we all have in relation to protecting our environment, and to draw attention to the small changes we can all make in our day to day lives.
Now in its 17th year, the DMAs have seen a 200% increase in entries over the last 5 years, highlighting the growth of the industry. With this growing interest and influence in the annual event, the EPA sponsorship highlights the importance of organisations playing their part in the protection of the environment. The EPA plays a key role in environmental regulation, provision of knowledge and advocacy for the environment to protect and improve the environment as a valuable asset for the people of Ireland.
Over 700 people from the Irish digital industry attended the 2019 event. Judges for this year’s Digital Media Awards 2020 include Ireland AM Presenter, Colin Baker, Commercial Director of Web Factory, Alan Devlin and Head of YouTube Ireland, Elaine Doyle among others. In addition to this, Newstalk’s Tom Dunne will MC on the night. Other sponsors of the Digital Media Awards 2020 include Cpl Recruitment, Square1 designers and developers and The Irish Times Media Solutions.
Speaking at the announcement of the awards, Laura Burke, EPA Director General said:
“We are delighted to sponsor the Digital Media Awards this year. Through evidence from the EPA and others we know that our current production and consumption processes, behaviours, and value systems are not compatible with ensuring a safe, healthy, and prosperous society and environment for us all to live in. The Awards give the EPA an incredible opportunity to engage with a very creative and influential young audience who can assist the EPA in spreading our environmental protection and behaviour change messages, across a variety of social media platforms. With the theme ‘Be the Change’, the EPA is delighted to support the awards and this audience who are driving the change on digital and social media. The Digital Media Awards celebrate those achievements.”
