Jim Jim Nugent, Host of the Nokia Digital Media Awards 2012

We are delighted to announce that FM104′s Jim Jim Nugent of the Strawberry Alarm Clock is the host of the 2012 Nokia Digital Media Awards! With an avid interest in social media combined with a comical view on pretty much everything, Jim Jim is sure to be a delightfully entertaining host!

Jim-Jim Nugent has been a radio presenter for the past 20 years. Starting off in pirate radio, Jim quickly moved from a late night talk show to breakfast radio where he has been a familiar voice for the past 12 years. He has won eight prestigious PPI Radio Awards for his show The Strawberry Alarm Clock (which he presents and produces) including this year’s ‘Best Breakfast Show’. The Strawberry Alarm Clock is the No.1 Breakfast Show in Dublin.

Jim has written and produced many comedy items over the years including sketches, songs and calls and 2010 saw him perform his first stand-up comedy shows. He has co-presented a game show on RTE Television and appeared as a guest on numerous TV shows including The Podge & Rodge Show, Tubridy Tonight and many others. He became a father for the first time in August last year.

Our ‘Love Digital’ Launch!

The Nokia Digital Media Awards 2012 Launch took place last Wednesday at the Trinity Science Gallery. The event was a huge success, with over 120 attendees from many different areas of the digital media sector.

Among those attending were Nokia, Enterprise Ireland, Pegbar Irish Animation Network, O2 Media, as well as a number of our judges and sponsors for 2012! Three of our previous winners, including esus Web Solutions, Martello Media, and IT Sligo did some fantastic presentations at the event, highlighting what their winning projects entailed and what the benefits of entering and winning the Digital Media Awards are.

A big thank you to everyone who got involved in the Launch this year – we hope you love our new theme, ‘Love Digital’, and that you found the event an exciting platform to both network and learn about the 2012 Awards!
